Does this victory have a particular flavor compared to your journey in the game?

I was necessarily a little disappointed to have lost in April.I will not come back to the controversies around the conditions of my defeat, it does not have to be here, but I think that all the maestros, whatever their earnings, are disappointed to lose, and the masters can be aopportunity to show that we are still there, in the game, and it's pretty good.

Yes, it requires a lot of method, organization and time.My learning method has refined.I have gained in method since I started learning songs.In all, it took me a little over a year and a half.

I started to learn songs by heart one by one just after my second casting, in 2018 (I had not been selected)).A lot of well -known titles like double I of Christophe Willem, Aziza of Daniel Balavoine, or that I love you by Johnny...I learned about 150 essential tubes for, the day I go to the show, be guaranteed to score a few points.

I realized as I learned well, that it remained engraved in my memory.And I feared a little to make a very low score in the show, a few points then leave.So I told myself that I had to learn as many songs as possible to reduce this risk.I didn't even think of making money, at that time, even less of becoming Maestro.

For a little over a year, I continued to learn songs, and it became like brain gymnastics that I liked.

I had a fairly precise method.I downloaded all the songs that fell into the game and that I did not know.It was, every other day, learning and revisions.The day "learning", I listened to two or three times the song I wanted to learn, no more, then I listened to other songs that I wanted to learn.The next day, I randomly revived a few songs from the playlist that I was supposed to know.Then I listened to two or three times those listened to the day before.I thought it was more effective than listening to the same song in one day thirty times.In this way, the song is making its way in our brain and is anchored in our memory in an almost painless way.I saw the list of my songs learned to grow, it was rewarding and encouraging.

Lors de mes premiers tournages, je suis ainsi arrivé with 900 chansons en tête.It has represented a lot of work.A year before my filming, I spent half an hour to three quarters of an hour a day, and in the last few weeks before, I was almost doing only on my days.Today, I know about 1150 songs.

Not bad indeed!What is more complicated, having to learn historical dates, or words of songs?Does the fact that these are in rhythm and music also help memorization?

It’s not really the same thing.I learned a few historical dates in school or college, when we are asked to learn dates by heart.Today, when we are at university, these things are anchored and we are no longer asked to learn by heart, except for end -of -year exams.

What advice would you give to a person, young or less young by the way, who would like to seriously rub into this game, who is very popular?

I can send this person to the advice I just gave you.A rather painless method.But obviously, it will depend on the time it can have.

What helps is just like that.For me, after a while, it was becoming almost a drug. Just three years ago, we learned of the disappearance of Johnny Hallyday (question asked on December 5, 2020, editor's note)).Is he one of those artists you like and who inspire you?And what are they, these artists who have a special place for you?

Johnny Hallyday I like it, nothing more.It is obviously a sacred monster of variety and rock in France, a legend because of its vocal power, its pace, its physical beauty, its charisma, its longevity and its ability to cross eras andthe trends.We tend to forget it, but it also experienced small hollows, especially in the late 1970s and in the 2000s.

I like a lot of songs from him but I would not classify him among my favorite singers.I was marked by several singers, during successive periods of my life.

At one time, I really liked Joe Dassin.He sang popular hymns which were also quality titles, popular, intelligent and moving hymns.

I really like Claude François for his ability to cross, too, fashions and eras.His latest disco titles, Alexandria, Alexandra and Magnolias for Ever are really of quality, even the specialists say it.The orchestrations are highly sought after, in short, they are good songs.

When I was a teenager I also liked Hervé Vilard and Sheila, unpretentious popular singers that we denigrate a little today but that I like.

What is your few favorite songs, the one you have known for a long time without having learned them and you sing, for once, for fun?

I'm going to quote you five, including one in English.I think it's a good choice.These are really songs that I love spontaneously, and that I did not need as you said to "work" specially for the show.

The first, one of the songs that I listened to the most in my life, and in any case in my adolescence, it is us (1979)) by Hervé Vilard.She was a huge tube when she came out, but, like many songs of that time (I think of Retraiens, Rêveries by Hervé Vilard, or certain titles of Sheila)), unjustly forgotten because very little disseminatedon radio.Even on nostalgia!

Comme beaucoup de chansons de Julien Clerc, elle est très mélodieuse, et le texte colle parfaitement à la voix de l’interprète, with son fameux vibrato. La chanson s’inscrit dans un album (“Fais-moi une place”)) que je trouve très bon (bien que je ne sois pas critique)), with beaucoup de belles chansons, des mélodies un peu planantes (je pense notamment à Le verrou, à Petit Joseph ou à Le chiendent)).

Est-ce que ce goût de la chanson et de la musique, que tu as démontré émission après émission, te donne envie (et peut-être est-ce déjà un projet)) de te créer ton propre univers musical ? D’ailleurs, est-ce que tu écris un peu, et est-ce que tu joues de la musique ?

How do you look at this very special year for everyone who ends?Will you have changed you this year 2020?Perhaps reinforced in your confidence in you, and refined your prospects for the future?

This year 2020 was obviously good and even very good for me.

I really like my city, always, and I realize more and more.I become more and more aware of the beauty of this city, its assets, its pleasant character.It is an average city, quite normal from the great suburbs of Paris, a bit like Orleans, Troyes, Reims, Amiens, Tours or Le Mans.I think that of all these cities, Rouen is perhaps the most independent, the least "vassal" in Paris. C’est une ville portuaire et presque maritime, with ses marées, ses mouettes, son port céréalier, un des premiers d’Europe...
