Small and cableless, AirPods seem destined to be lost every other day. As Apple thinks of everything, headphones have been added to the Find My iPhone feature. However, there are certain requirements:
- Find My iPhone only works with your AirPods if the charging case is open or the AirPods are out of the case;
- AirPods must be within Bluetooth range
To configure the location function of your AirPods, follow these steps:
Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Find My iPhone
In the menu, activate the two functions Find my iPhone and Send last position.
That's it, your AirPods are automatically configured!
Now that you've lost them, here's how to find them:
Open Find My iPhone on your iPhone (or from any terminal via iCloud) then select your AirPods from the list of devices linked to your account.
On a map, your connected devices appear with colored dots. The blue dot represents the device used to search for your AirPods. The green dot indicates the position of your headphones. On the other hand, if it is gray, it means that they are disconnected, discharged, in their box or out of range.
It's not enough to know them in the area, now you have to get your hands on them. To do this, click on the Actions and Ring button. You can even ring one or the other if you've lost them in two different places!
That's it, you're breathing. You can now throw a small Shaggy to come down after this stress hit.
