GP Doha: Zarco and Martin offer a sensational double podium to Ducati-Pramac

Johann Zarco, Ducati-Pramac (2nd in qualifying and 2nd in the race): "First of all, congratulations to Jorge: his race was impressive, he was very good. For my part, I am very happy: I had a good feeling to do a good race. With this bike and this team, we can get great satisfaction: I just have to improve on certain points, in order to maintain my performance in a more comfortable way".

"I have already taken steps because now I am better able to manage my effort and my tires. To be leading the championship at this stage is of course a good thing, but the season has only just started and I still have to go step by step to achieve victory".

Jorge Martin, Ducati-Pramac (1st in qualifying and 3rd in the race): "I still can't believe it! What a hell of a race, I don't have the words! Even yesterday, I didn't dare dream of the podium and today, that dream has come true. I am very satisfied with the team, as with myself: this race could not have gone better".

MNC analysis: A milestone race for Ducati-Pramac, who scored twice on the podium after placing their two riders at the top of the starting grid in qualifying! Did you say "efficient" the satellite Desmosedici?!

GP Doha: Zarco and Martin offer a sensational double podium for Ducati-Pramac

Johann Zarco and his young teammate Jorge Martin certainly made an impression during this second round, both with their speed and their ability to keep up the pace at the front. The Spanish debutant thus installed himself without complex at the controls as soon as the lights went out, followed like his shadow by his neighbor in the box.

A solid leader, without shaking, the n°89 then distinguished himself by returning blow for blow to the onslaught, demonstrating enormous potential for his second MotoGP race only. After Martine goes to the beach, here is Martin who is playing for the win! The 2018 Moto3 world champion will only finally bow down against Quartararo - on another pace ten laps from the goal -, then against his teammate who beat him on the wire.

Johann, precisely, achieved a splendid performance with his second consecutive place in Qatar, which propelled him to the top of the provisional championship! A nice revenge for the Cannes native, a moment without a handlebar after his failed stint at KTM... The n°5 proved to be solid, pugnacious and clever: his overtaking on Martin in the last moments was a nice move, dictated by the 'experience.

Happy for himself as much as for his team, Johann was also sincerely delighted to write the history of French motorcycle sport by signing the first podium with two French pilots in the premier category since 1954. A good omen for the future !
