The Netflix scam: beware of emails announcing that your subscription has expired

This is an email sent to your Netflix login address that should be treated with the utmost caution. The Phonandroid site warns of this new phishing attempt linked to Netflix accounts.

A "very successful" hacking attempt according to the specialized site which indicates that the email "includes all the codes of the video platform" and invites you to renew your expired subscription. For this, the site to which the subscriber is directed asks to enter his access codes and bank details.

Data necessarily interesting for hackers knowing that the access codes will be resold on dark web sites. As for bank details, they will be used for uncontrolled purchases.

Although it is not new, this hack previously only existed in English. It arrived in recent days in French according to Phonandroid. And there again, the "work" of the hackers is neat and the uninformed Internet user could largely fall into the trap and have his codes and bank details stolen.

If, in the body of the email, several elements can alert, the best way to check if you are the subject of a scam is to connect directly to your Netflix platform without following the link of the email via the official website or mobile application. If nothing indicates during this connection that your subscription has expired then the email received was fraudulent...
