iPhone 13 Pro macro mode is available on older iPhones

Very good news has just fallen for owners of old iPhones. The Halide application has just added the macro mode, exclusive to the iPhone 13 Pro, on previous generations. This concerns all models from the iPhone 8. This will obviously not match the results offered by the latest Pro models, but will still allow you to have very good macro photos.

Macro mode is available on older iPhones

With the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro Max, Apple notably introduced a macro mode thanks to its ultra-wide-angle sensor. Allowing to take pictures of subjects located two centimeters from the sensor, the functionality will however not remain exclusive to these two Apple smartphones. The Halide application has indeed added a macro function through the 2.5 update. This allows the iPhone 13 to take advantage of this novelty, but also all models from the iPhone 8.

While the iPhone 13 Pro uses the ultra-wide-angle sensor to capture macro photos, Halide automatically determines which sensor can take a closer photo, then lets you control that via a focus control feature. "sub-millimeter" point. After taking the photo, the app uses Neural Macro AI based detail enhancement process to digitally enhance the image. Halide's team still points out that the macro mode is more advanced on the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini, with precision worthy of a microscope. The results will still be very satisfactory on previous iPhone models.
