Nintendo's recent hybrid console update 4.0 packed more than just video capture and save transfer into its bags. The Japanese manufacturer has also added support for wireless headsets, as long as they are not Bluetooth.

We told you about it last Friday, the Switch now allows you to transfer your saves from one console to another, as well as capture up to 30 seconds of video. What's more, your Switch can now update a game without an internet connection. Simply connect to another console that has a more recent version of the same game, to start the download.

USB Only

But another welcome feature is hidden among all these little new features. This is for compatibility with wireless headphones. No, don't rush your Bluetooth headset, the Switch can only accommodate USB wireless headsets. So, you just need to plug your headset's USB transmitter/receiver into the console's dock port to enjoy the functionality.

But what about the console when it is in nomadic mode? Several Reddit users report that a USB Type-A to Type-C adapter is required to connect headphones to the tablet. Hopefully Nintendo soon rolls out a new update to add Bluetooth headsets to the list of compatible headsets.

Above all, let's hope that it activates support for headsets directly in the console, without going through their custom app.

I don't understand why all the articles talk about wireless headphones. USB audio is supported, the fact that the headset is wireless has absolutely no relation.

Otherwise, Nintendo really managed to come up with the most shitty system ever for voice chat.

Tired of having to take my wire out, plug it into my bluetooth headset, plug it into the console whenever I want to play.

In fact in public transport I play without sound, no time to take all that out for a few stops.

Let's wake up the post a little !!!I'm looking for a headset for the console to play and chat in splatoon.I found access to HORI (a ***** level sound) but at 30 euros it does not no miracles. I wanted to plug in my sports earphones instead of headphones and only use the adapter. But the microphone is not supported (at least not activated). On the app, I have to click on the call button at least once to activate the microphone when the headphones are plugged directly into the phone. My old logitech USB headset does not work plugged into the console either.

Hello, I have a problem with my headset I have the impression that it does not work I have everything activated in the voice discussions and I am sure and certain of it. But on my headphones there are two files, a green one that allows you to listen and a red one, or when I plug it in I don't hear anything and neither of them works for voice chat, I I put my headphones on off and I even tried on but nothing works. Does anyone have a solution to this problem?
