Magic beans. This is how we could qualify Samsung's new true wireless headphones. If you follow tech news, you've probably heard of iFixit. This media has made a name for itself by testing the degree of repairability of new tech products. Inevitably, the Galaxy Buds Live have not escaped this. And so much the better for Samsung.

Galaxy Buds Live: magic beans

If the new headphones from Samsung have been the subject of some mockery, their bean shape hugs the inside of the ear and thus provides excellent support, promises the Korean. According to iFixit, this design choice and the very design of the Galaxy Buds Live has another advantage: they are extremely easy to repair.

The media ensures that the Buds Live and their housing are very easy to disassemble and repair yourself and even speaks of a modular design. All elements can be replaced without resorting to gluing or welding. Special mention to the batteries, very easy to change but difficult to obtain as spare parts at the moment.

For all these reasons, iFixit gives Galaxy Buds Live a score of 8 out of 10.

A reference in the matter

If we were able to see such a high mark on the repairability tests of smartphones, tablets or computers, the score of the Galaxy Buds Live is unprecedented for this type of product.

Indeed, true wireless headphones almost all receive catastrophic repairability ratings. This is explained by their very compact format, the use of very rigid molded plastic and assemblies requiring the application of glue or welding. For example, Apple's AirPods Pro, one of the benchmarks on the market, obtained a repairability score of 0 out of 10 from iFixit.

The Galaxy Buds Live outperform the competition so much on this side that one wonders why Samsung did not insist on the durability of the product and therefore, by extension, its impact on the environment.
